PPSC Programs

Preschool Canskate

Preschool Canskate offers basic movement on-ice for ages 3-5.  The course has a strong element of play built in to encourage & capture the attention of this age group.  Once the basics have been learned, the skater will be ready to progress confidently to the next Canskate program.  Helmets and skate guards are mandatory.

Canskate

Canskate is a basic learn-to-skate program that is flexible to meet the needs of all ages of skaters, right up to Adult.  No prior skating experience is necessary.  The Canskate program allows skaters to pursue their chosen skating activity (figure skating, hockey, etc.) with a level of competence and confidence to better ensure their success.  There are 7 stages, and skaters in levels 5-7 may want to explore our Junior program.

Hockey Canskate

Hockey Canskate is part of the learn-to-skate program, and gives aspiring hockey players the chance to add a hockey element to their skating.  Helmets, gloves and sticks are incorporated into the learning of basic skating skills.

Pre-Juniors & Juniors

Pre-Juniors & Juniors is ideal for the skater whose interest lies more in the figure skating.  Skaters in Canskate levels 5-7 can still complete their badges while working on tests in the Starskate program.  Daily instruction is included in the registration fee.

Intermediates

Intermediates is for the more avid figure skater who wants to commit more time and effort to their figure skating skills.  Strength, size and maturity levels are all factors, as there is some combined ice time with Senior skaters.  Coaching fees are not included in the registration fees, and parents must make lesson arrangements with our professional coaching staff.

Seniors

Seniors is for the figure skater that wants to continue their testing and competing at a higher level.  Coaching fees are not included in the registration fee, and parents must make lesson arrangements with our professional coaching staff.

Special Olympics & Teen/Adult Canskate

Teens, Adults, & Special Olympians learn basic skating skills, or advance present skills.  Beginner & seasoned skaters are all welcome.

Synchronized Skating

(Peace Passage will not be offering Synchro Skating in 09/10).  Skaters in Canskate levels 5-7, Juniors, Intermediates, & Seniors will find Synchro (team skating) an excellent addition to their respective programs.  Meant to be a fun, team part of their sport, and adds strength and other skills to their individual skating.
